If you have a talent for writing, you can put this talent to good use in your affiliate marketing business. First of all, you should be able to fill your website with relevant and accurate content so that your customers will come to view your site as a great place to get reliable information. But you can do even more with your writing skills as an affiliate marketer.
Write Ecourses
You will probably want to subscribe to an auto responder service if you send out ecourses to promote your products but if you have the talent to write them yourself instead of paying other writers to do this, you will save a lot of money and the cost of the auto responder service is minimal so it is worth considering.
An ecourse is nothing but a series of emails, often instructional and always informative. As with many other marketing strategies, this is not the place to do the hard sell; instead you provide informative content to your subscribers that arrives in their inboxes each day for 5, 7, or 10 days, whichever you decide. Marketers often give away free ecourses to build up their email lists and to entice potential customers to make a purchase. You can include a link at the end of each day’s ecourse that will point subscribers to your website or pitch page and give them an opportunity to order.
Write Ebooks
Internet marketers and affiliate marketers often give away free ebooks to their customers or subscribers, either as a bonus or to entice them to buy their products. The entire ebook may be filled with information that would be important for your subscribers to know and you could include links within the ebook that would lead the reader to your sales page or website.
Writing can be a large part of the affiliate marketing process and affiliate marketers who have the talent for writing are a step ahead of their counterparts. Still, if you don’t have the talent or time for writing, you can either hire others to do it for you or you can often barter with writers for an equitable trade of services that will benefit both of you.
Whether or not you write them yourself, ebooks and ecourses are powerful marketing tools that you will want to consider using in your affiliate marketing career. Again, as with the rest of the content you produce, make sure they are filled with information that people are really looking for to solve their problems and not keyword stuffed, link-filled copy that will be quickly forgotten.
There are various ways to promote your products and to advertise your affiliate marketing business and it may take some trial and error to find the right method or methods that work well for you. Try not to use only one method, at least at first, because it may take some time to see which methods bring the most revenue.
Marketing Methods
You are probably already familiar with many of the popular Internet marketing methods used in affiliate marketing today but we’ll name a few of them here.
Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC) This is when you, the advertiser pay a certain amount of money every time someone clicks on your ads. Different keywords cost various amounts of money per click. Marketers bid on the keywords they want to run ads for.
Forum Marketing – You join online discussion forums that are dedicated to your niche. You post relevant comments, and you may ask and answer questions. The key here is to get known as an expert in your niche. While you don’t openly market your products here, you include a link in your signature line that leads back to your website or product sales page.
Article Marketing – You write articles or pay others to write them and submit them to article directories. The articles contain information relevant to your niche and depending upon the article directory, you either include links in the body of your article or in the resource box at the end of your article.
Email Marketing – This is not a very viable option without a website of your own but it can be done. With email marketing, you collect email addresses from those interested in your niche. Most of the time this is done by offering something of value, usually free, to subscribers. You might offer an ecourse, ebook, or a newsletter. Interested parties type in their name and email address and they receive whatever it is you have promised. If they have also agreed to receive subsequent emails from you, you can then send out periodic emails to your list advertising your product or promoting a special price on your product .
Test Your Marketing Methods
In order to know which marketing method or methods are working best for you, you’ll need to test them and track where your sales are coming from. Sometimes, marketers do what is known as split testing. An example of split testing would be when the affiliate marketer is offering the same exact product through two or more marketing methods. Then the marketer will track where the sales are coming from and have a clear sense of which method is working best. You will likely need to perform testing throughout your affiliate marketing career to stay on top of the game.
